WHEN A CRITIC IS CRITICIZED

DPR or Indonesia House of Representative is a place for honorable people. They came from highly intelligence background, they represent our voice -about 200 millions indonesian people put their hope on those intellectual thinkers. We are the only reason they exist. When we question our government, they are the first to speak up for us, when the government issued a new debatable rule, they are the first to defend us, because they are us. So when some of them do not play our part or even are againxt our will, we are the first to correct them even though only by criticizing them.

There’s a voice of people spoken by SLANK when they feel something wrong with our representatives.

Pernah kah lo denger mafia judi

Katanya banyak uang suap polisi
tentara jadi pengawal pribadi

Apa lo tau mafia narkoba
keluar masuk jadi bandar di penjara
terhukum mati tapi bisa ditunda

Siapa yang tau mafia selangkangan
Tempatnya lendir2 berceceran
Uang jutaan bisa dapat perawan
Kacau balau … 2x negaraku ini …

Ada yang tau mafia peradilan
tangan kanan hukum di kiri pidana
dikasih uang habis perkara

Apa bener ada mafia pemilu
entah gaptek apa manipulasi data
ujungnya beli suara rakyat

Mau tau gak mafia di senayan
kerjanya tukang buat peraturan
bikin UUD ujung2nya duit

Pernahkah gak denger triakan Allahu Akbar
pake peci tapi kelakuan bar bar
ngerusakin bar orang ditampar2

Is it intellectual for so-called intellectual people to be pissed off by a criticism. Is it wise for so-called intelligent people not to open-heartedly accept the criticism and look inside their hearts.

The Noblest Human

“The Noblest Human?” Should it be “The Noblest Creature?” since Human kind is equal especially when it come to Human rights. Well, I consciously entitle this post based on what I usually give to my students at SMAT Krida Nusantara Bandung. Besides teaching my students ENGLISH subject, I always share with them about life, talk about everything they experience as teenagers. And one of them is The Noblest Human. Who is it? is it she or He? is it white or black? is it …?

For me, the noblest human is woman. I do believe that human is created equal, primarily before GOD. Woman is like the most precious work of art, the most valuable jewelery in the whole universe.

The Most Precious Work-of-Art

Woman is created in a very perfect shape that everything in her is attractive, admirable, and also stimulative. We will come up with a very different perspective when we look at the figure of a man and a woman.

The Most Valuable Jewelery

Possessing such wonderful figure makes a woman a jewelery. Here, my title above plays the role. The choice is left to the woman, whether she wants to be respected as the most valuable jewelery or the other way around, she accept to be treated as the most priceless scratched jewelery. If the first choice is taken, she has to treat herself exactly the same as people treat their precious jeweleries (you know what it’s meant). It is now reasonable for me that God ask women to strictly protect herself-every religion surely has different ways. In Islam, one of the ways to keep women away from being degraded jewelery is HIJAB or JILBAB. But sadly, this hasn’t been fully realized by them. In fact, Some misunderstood almost about everything. They assume that the beauty of a woman is for being revealed, shown, enjoyed, watched, and so on. Religion restrictions are considered cages which tied them down from being exist in every aspect of life-work, community, lifestyle.

You are too soft to be broken, too strong to be fought, too precious to be touched, too good to be true.

Fitna film, What should we do as moslem?

Here goes “the second Danish Cartoon-gate”, although today’s provocative issue came from Netherlands. This time the mocking is even bigger and meaner. They mock Islam not in two dimensional media like before, but in more lively three dimensional media, MOVIE. I don’t want to discuss about the movie, everybody knows now what the movie is all about.

As a moslem, furious? of course at the first place. Well, I guess everybody whose religions are mocked in such immoral way will experience the same feeling like moslems does right know. Regardless the reasons behind making the movie, after a while, as a moslem, I’m trying to understand that he doesn’t know a bit about Islam, He knows nothing about our peaceful way in embracing the world. When we know Islam, we will know moslems. But when we knows only moslem – few of them- Islam is still far away from your knowledge.

Islam is not what the film described. Islam is Rahmatan lil A’lamiin – love for everything in the universe. It means that Islam doesn’t practice or even legalize violence, It’s a peaceful and loving religion, not only for human kind but also for every creatures in this whole universe. If you read and comprehend Quran thoroughly, you’ll find that what is seen in the film is totally out of context. It only showed the effect, not the cause. Something happened for a reason, this wasn’t revealed in the film.

It’s stated in Quran that Allah oblige all moslem to respect others. We were told that we were created differently in terms of tribes, clans, nations, etc. in order us to respect each other. So, we know that we have different ideas, backgrounds, races, religions, that is why Islam comes peacefully to the whole world to care, to love, to bring affection to those different things and also to eliminate disputes among them. Islam doesn’t bring GENOCIDE like what happened to our brothers and sisters in Bosnia, Kosovo, Albania, etc. What we saw from the movie is RE-ACTION not ACTION, it’s an effect of a cause or even causes, and that isn’t even the case, because Islam told us to be patience as our first RE-ACTION to an ACTION/S. Allah will always be beside those who are patience.
